Makes You Wanna Play Multi Guitars Toddler and Youth Kids Tee Shirt in 5 Colors

On the list of greatest guitarists of all time there could be literally hundreds of names. There have been so many influential guitarists who have changed the world of music for the better. However, there are certainly a few that stand above the rest. Not only are they incredible in how they play, but they have endured the test of time and really have been inspirational for so many up and coming guitarists.

The one and only Jimi Hendrix is at the top of the list for many reasons. Considered to be by far one of the greatest guitarists in rock music history, Hendrix achieved world wide fame back in the late 1960's. Starting in England he made a name for himself at the Monterey Pop Festival and then later at Woodstock in 1969. He was a pioneer of guitar feedback and was the first to incorporate overdriven amplifiers, which until then were thought of as a way to make bad music. Hendrix played one of the most amazing guitars of all time with his Fender 60's Reverse Headstock Stratocaster.

Second on the prestigious list of greatest guitarists of all time should be the incomparable Jimmy Page. Joining the group The Yardbirds before starting the band known to all as Led Zeppelin, Page was one of the most versatile guitarists in history. He was ranked number nine in Rolling Stone's list of 100 top guitarists of all time. Playing his Gibson Les Paul Classic as well as his Gibson Custom Shop Jimmy Page Double Neck Electric he was pure magic on stage.

Also one of the original members of The Yardbirds, Eric Clapton is a name that is synonymous with amazing guitar playing. With a nickname such as "Slowhand" Clapton won several Grammy Awards and is one of the most successful guitar players and musicians in the 20th and 21st century. With an amazing three inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Clapton is the reason that many youngsters even pick up a guitar for the first time. He was a pioneer for blues-rock as well as psychedelic rock while playing his famous Eric Clapton Artist Signature Stratocaster.

Making this list of greatest guitarists of all time, you can't help but remember Carlos Santana. With his blend of rock, blues, jazz fusion and salsa, his music is truly inspiring. Santana is one musician that can change with the times and adapt his guitar playing to the various types of music he is working on. With a decidedly Latin flair, his music reaches to the core of your soul. Playing on a PRS Santana II named after him or the Gibson SG, Carlos Santana sounds great no matter what music he plays.

Whether your choice for greatest guitarist of all time would be someone in heavy metal like Slash from Guns N Roses or Angus Young from AC/DC or someone more rhythmic like Keith Richards there are certainly many choices out there. The one thing they all have in common is that there is literally no end to their natural talent and their ability to really rock the guitar.

This is a lovely high quality Woven throw, made in USA. Great decoration for you home, office, excellent to hang on wall, fold on bed, etc.
Customer Review: Unique Gift
This gift was ordered as a Christmas gift to my teenage brother who loves guitars. I searched everywhere for guitar blankets, and this was the only one I could find. I was very pleased with the seller (Cjicollectiables, LLC)as the product arrive on time and came with a customer satisfaction garentee. Needless to say, I was very satified with the blanket throw, as was my brother. I would recommend the blanket as a unique quality gift for any guitar lover, and the seller as reliable.

References to the guitar more or less in its modern form date back to the 14th century. In its infancy it had four courses of double strings and a rounded body like a gourd or a pumpkin. Its mother would not recognize it today!

Around the sixteenth century the guitar was a popular musical instrument amongst the middle and lower classes of Europe, and as it increased in popularity it began to undergo a change of shape. Luthiers began making instruments with single strings instead of courses and experimented with its form until, by the 19th century, the body of the guitar was made wider, and flattened out. In the twentieth century the wooden tuning pegs which adjusted the tension of the strings were replaced by metal machine heads. Now we have the shape that the modern electric guitar is based on.

The first electric guitars were made in the 1930's in response to a demand from guitarists in bands whose rhythmic stylings could not be heard above the other instruments. The main problem with these electric guitars was that feedback was coming through the amplifier from the vibration of the guitar's body. This challenge began the evolutionary process of the solid body electric guitar.

The early electric guitars had sound holes in the body that were smaller than the sound holes of conventional guitars. In 1924 Lloyd Loar, an engineer with the Gibson factory, used a magnet to change guitar string vibrations into electrical signals, which could be amplified through a speaker. Now it was possible to build guitars that did not possess sound holes but could be heard clearly through an amplifier. Amateur guitar players were able to get their hands on electric guitars through the efforts of Paul Barth, George Beauchamp and Adolph Rickenbacker who founded the Electro String Company in 1931. Their guitars resembled steel guitars, and were played in the guitarist's lap using a slide.

Modern electric guitars are made of many thin layers of wood glued together. The top layer is often a more attractive wood to give the guitar a pleasing appearance, and the other layers are of a wood which gives a good tone such as poplar or ash. The use of laminates endows the instrument with the robust body and tonal quality that would be impossible in one piece of wood. The original solid body guitar was however, made from one piece of wood. In 1941 Les Paul turned a railway sleeper into an amplified stringed instrument. He called it "The Log". When production of his instrument began he stayed with the conventional guitar shape to give his market a familiar image to relate to. Les Paul's invention marketed as the Gibson Les Paul is still extremely popular.

In the 1940's, the Fender Broadcaster Electric guitar came into the world. Nobody really noticed until Arthur Smith used a Broadcaster to record "Guitar Boogie" in 1949. After being renamed the Telecaster, it was put on the market in 1950. Another Fender model, the Stratocaster, caught guitarists' attention with its distinctive tone and light weight. It's still the second most popular guitar in the world.

Ibanez, Jackson, Paul Reed Smith, ESP and Yamaha have made solid body electric guitars with original designs, distinctive shapes and new materials mixed with modern technologies to produce more efficient and versatile electric guitars. Today's electric guitars produce tones varying between futuristic music or quasi-acoustic sounds.

In the 1960's, effects boxes introduced fuzz, delay, echo and the wah-wah sound to the arsenal of sounds available to the modern guitarist. A pedal operated by the guitar player's foot turns the effects on or off. Now guitars contain software that lets guitars sound like other types of guitars or reproduce the sound of other musical instruments. With developments like the latest self-tuning guitars, maybe the old joke about a guitarist "phoning in" a solo will become a reality!

Refreshingly, this was one of those CDs I was able to just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

i love fender stratocaster

The first prototypes of the Gibson Flying V Guitar were made in 1957 to compete with the Fender Stratocaster, which was very popular at the time. Gibson wanted to create a guitar that had a design that looked great and something that would look like it came from the future. They did exactly that by designing a guitar that looks like something that would be in a Jetson's cartoon. Another futuristic model that they created at the same time was the Gibson Explorer.

1958 was the year that the Flying V hit the stores but with a few changes that made them different from the prototypes. The prototypes were made of mahogany, which made them too heavy for Gibson's liking. They changed the wood to korina wood, which was similar to mahogany but lighter.

These new models didn't fly off the shelf like Gibson had hoped they would and dealers in all of 1958 and 1959 ordered less than 100 of them. This led to the Flying V being discontinued and left out of the Gibson catalog in 1960.

As we all know, even though it was discontinued, this was not the last we would see of the Flying V. So what happened? Well a couple of amazing guitarists, Albert King and Lonnie Mack, really loved the sound and the looks of the guitar and continued to use them as their main instruments. These guitarists influenced a lot of the up and coming guitar players and the Flying V caught their eye as well. Interest was really starting to grow so Gibson decided to bring it back.

Gibson returned the Flying V into production in 1966 and went back to using mahogany wood, added a bigger pick guard and changed to a Vibrola tailpiece. Some records show that only 175 Flying V's were made between 1966 and 1970.

In the late 60's, Jimi Hendrix began using Flying V's and one of his most popular guitars was the first one he got where he hand painted some psychedelic artwork on it. Jimi is also known for his sunburst and left-handed models.

In 1971, Gibson release a limited run of 350 Medallion Flying V's. These featured a two-piece body, a three-piece neck, a shorter headstock and a stop bar tailpiece instead of the Vibrola. These guitars were so popular that they sold out in their first year.

In the mid 70's, thanks to heavy metal bands like UFO and the Scorpions, the Flying V was producing massive sales with the Flying V Mahogany.

Gibson came out with the famous Flying V2 in 1979 which featured "boomerang" style pickups and brass hardware to improve sustain. Only 157 of these guitars were shipped the first year and they were more expensive than the earlier versions.

Other guitar companies like Dean, Hamer and Ibanez were selling cheaper versions similar to the Flying V design, so Gibson released the Flying V CMT in 1981.

In the 1990's, Gibson released a series of artist signature models for Jimi Hendrix, Lonnie Mack and Rudolf Schenker. In 2002, they came out with a Lenny Kravitz Signature 67 Flying V.

Even though the Gibson Flying V guitar had a rough start earlier on, today the guitar is one of the most sought after models ever. Some of the guitarists that have made the Flying V famous are Albert King, Lonnie Mack, Jimi Hendrix, Billy Gibbons, Rudolph and Michael Schenker, Kirk Hammett, Pete Townshend, Lenny Kravitz, Yngwie Malmsteen, K.K. Downing, Rick Nielsen and Eddie Van Halen.

Marshall Amplification is a company located in Britain. The specialty of Marshall Amplification is electric guitar amplifiers. The Marshall amplifiers have gained a lot of recognition and are extremely admired among the guitarists. One of the best combinations that most of the pop artists love to have is either a Gibson Les Paul or Fender Stratocaster with a Marshall Stack Amplifier. These days the pop music is a lot dependent on the classic Marshall Stack, which just sounds awesome.

The full Marshall Stack consists of one head that contains the actual amplifier on top of the two stacked 4x12s that are the loudspeaker cabinets and each of them contains about four 12 inch loudspeakers that are arranged in a square layout. On the top cabinet, there are two loudspeakers that are angled in a slightly upward fashion and that is something that gives it a unique appearance. If a single cabinet is used then the entire unit is given the name of half stack.

The Marshall Stack Amplifier was first introduced in the early 1960s. Both Pete Townsend and John Entwistle of the band The Who were the first ones to use the Marshall Stack. It is being said that the first Marshall Stack Amplifier of 100 watts was made for Pete and John when they were looking to buy the equipment when their equipment got stolen. Initially the double cabinets were made but they did not appear practical due to their weight and then they were converted into a single cabinet, which then became the standard.

Later both Pete and John were doing experimentations on the Marshall Stack Amplifier and then started using the 200 watt amplifiers that were connected to the guitar through a Y splitter. Unfortunately, The Who went into a suit with the Cream and Jimi Hendrix and hence was not able to take all their gear up for overseas concerts and it was Cream and Jimi Hendrix who were seen with the Marshall Stack Amplifiers in their tours and were considered as the ones who pioneered the Marshall Stack Amplifiers.

With time, the surge for more volume grew by the different bands and for this reason in the 1970s the band Blue Oyster Cult used an entire wall of full stack Marshall Amplifiers. Then other bands such as Slayer and Yngwie Malmsteen also used the wall of Marshall Stack Amplifiers. Along with them were Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman who were playing in front of a total of 24 cabinets as well as Yngwie who conducted concerts with 31 stacks.

Most artists used the dummy cabs that are placed on the stage for visual effects. These cabs did not contain any speakers for ease of transportation and lifting. In most cases there were only two or four cabs that were powered as using more could cause problems with the mix in a live show.

Along with the Marshall Stack Amplifiers there was also a new technology that was introduced known as the Combo, which included amplifiers and speakers in one case. They have produced a lot of variations also known as the classic stack design, which includes Marshall Micro Stack and Marshall Mini Stack and the Marshall Mini Stack is about 10 inches in height and runs on batteries.

Fender Standard Stratocaster Guitar 3-Ply Back Plate White

Guitar Replacement Backplate. Made by Fender.

Fender offers an assortment of Stratocaster back plates for all of your replacement needs.

This back plate is 3-Ply and comes in a white finish.

Electric guitar history begins in the 1920's and 1930's when two Los Angeles musicians George Beauchamp and John Dopyera began trying to find ways of creating louder guitars. They first created a resonator guitar using aluminum disks with a metal body that was three times louder than an acoustic guitar. The resonator guitar evolved into what me commonly refer to now as the dobro.

It wasn't until 1930 that Beauchamp and another man Paul Barth developed the first working pickup. They then contacted Harry Wilson who carved the neck and body of what would be the first electric guitar. They nick-named it the frying pan due to it's round body.

The first man to build and market an electric "Spanish" style guitar was Lloyd Loar. Loar created Vivi-Tone, a company dedicated to the production of spanish style electric guitars. However the design was poor and within a year Vivi-Tone failed.

In 1935 Gibson began work on developing a new guitar pickup. This pickup would become incorporated onto the standard f-hole arch-top guitar known as the ES-150. The Gibson ES-150 is considered the first modern electric guitar in history.

A milestone in electric guitar history, the ES-150 became an instant success. However their were still some undesirable characteristics. Because of the hollow body design there were often problems with feedback and distortion.

The answer to this problem was the solid body electric guitar. The solid body electric guitar can be accredited to two men. Les Paul and Leo Fender. Les Paul's idea was to take a 4x4 piece of pine and attach two magnetic pickups. He then glued two cutaway halves of the original hollow body design to the 4x4.

Leo Fender's model was slightly different. His solid body was made of oak and instead of gluing two halves of a hollow body to a solid middle Leo Fender had carved the entire body solid. In 1949 Fender released the first successful solid-body electric guitar called the "Esquire."

It wasn't until 1952 that Gibson decided to release Les Paul's version of the solid body electric guitar. Although Fender had been on the market for a short while Gibson's Les Paul quickly become the industry standard and to this day is considered the most sought after guitar in electric guitar history.

By the 1960's electric guitar history had hit its maturity. Gibson introduced the humbucking pickup which helped to reduce unwanted noise from the magnetic coils in pickups. Fender and Gibson came out with more futuristic designs like the SG and Stratocaster.

Since the 1960's There have been numerous electric guitar manufacturers to come on to the scene. Manufacturers like Ibanez, Jackson, Paul Reed Smith, Dean and B.C.Rich are just a few of the modern companies who are still continuing to make electric guitar history.

John Robert has been playing guitar longer than he can remember and teaching for the last three years. His innovative teaching methods have helped many guitarists maximize their practice time for optimal playing potential. To learn more great guitar playing tips visit Jam-o-rama.info

Looking for a little to learn to play piano from an Internet product? Here are top 10 things to look for in online piano lessons:

1. Basic notation. When looking for online piano lessons, one of the top 10 things to look for in online piano lessons is the very basics at the least. While you may think that learning the names of notes and where they exist on a keyboard will suffice, quality piano lessons will teach you much more. Quality basic lessons will teach for example, the staff and clef; note names, location, and duration; sharps and flats; and scales and octaves. By the time you've finished basic notation lessons, you should be able to play the simplest songs quite proficiently. Later on, you'll learn about dotted notes, rests, key signatures, naturals, and more.

2. Accompanying audio or video files. Being able to watch a video or hear a demonstrative sound file is priceless when it comes to learning piano form online lessons. Be sure to seek out a service that offers either one of these.

3. Opportunities to discuss your progress with a live person. Whether this opportunity is available via email or chat, speaking to a real human about your efforts is another priceless bonus of online piano lessons. Try to find a service that offers a free forum where students are free to ask questions and where administrators take time to answer them.

4. Wide assortment of example music. There's no sense in selecting a service that teaches only one style of music! As an accomplished musician, you'll want to explore the world of piano and the only real way to do that is to experiment with various genres. So see if you can find a resource that offers not only classical lessons, but jazz piano lessons and gospel piano lessons as well.

5. Lessons on accompaniment and simple chords. Further lessons should introduce left hand activity (accompaniment) on the treble clef, basic chords, major and minor triads, and intervals.

6. Lessons on advanced notation. The advanced portion of online piano lessons should introduce note groupings, ties, triplets, expression and dynamic markings, slurs, legato, and a host of interesting Latin meanings. You may even find information about music charts, but at this point, your level of playing should definitely demonstrate more than mediocrity.

7. Lessons on advanced tricks. What would the study of piano be without a few tricks of the trade? When it's all said and done, you should be able to play trills, glissando's, and arpeggios as well.

8. Schedule to follow. Many online piano resources offer timed lessons but a growing number of them don't. Selecting the one that's most appropriate depends upon your lifestyle. Personally, we recommend that you select a service that follows a "loose" schedule. A "loose" schedule offers just enough structure to keep you on track, but it also offers enough leeway so that you aren't tied to the computer every day.

9. Actual sheet music. Wouldn't it be nice if you could print out the lessons that you're learning? Having access to your own copy of sheet music will strengthen your practicing skills when Internet access isn't available. Online lessons that offer downloadable sheet music is a must in this case.

10. Low cost. Well, who in the world wouldn't want that?!?

Claim your Free Piano Lessons eBook entitled, "The Secrets To Playing Piano in Less Time Than You Ever Thought Possible!" plus our jam-packed eZine filled with tips to help you reach your piano greatness!

Guitar Chords Logo E G A D Men's tee Shirt in 12 colors Small thru 6XL

The Fender American Standard series of guitars features both Telecaster and Stratocasters, the legends of the Fender name. The most affordable guitars in the Fender line-up, the classic style has some new updates to please musicians everywhere. Refinements include changes to some, but not all models of the guitars allowing musicians to select the guitar that best suits their playing style. The American Series guitars typically have twenty-two frets rather than the previous twenty-one, some feature humbuckers, synchonized tremolo arm, a steel bridge plate for added sustain and the three-sadle bridge has been replaced by a six-sadle bridge. The new six-sadle bridge means that you can adjust the height and length of each string independently. Available in a wide variety of colors and finishes, these guitars live up to the Fender legacy.

The Beginning

The first major electric guitar designed and produced by Leo Fender, the Fender Telecaster was introduced in the 1940's. With solid body construction and electronic amplification this was the first guitar to allow musicians to use the instrument with a band or as a solo instrument in a larger forum. Instantly popular with musicians across the genres, the Telecaster was embraced by Blues, Country and later Rock n' Roll musicians. Fender is known for its treble tone and the Telecaster is particularly known for its bright and clear tones. The bridge pickup of the Telecaster is wound more than the pickup for the neck with emphasizes the treble tone and the slanted neck also gives a more treble sound while the lower tones are dampened. A versatile instrument musicians can use the controls for volume and tone to craft their own sound. For more than fifty years the Telecaster has been a favorite of both professional and amateur musicians.

The Next Step

The second big innovation from the workshop of Leo Fender was the Stratocaster. Designed in the early 1950's, the Stratocaster was the result of all that had been learned from making the Telecaster combined with feedback from musicians about what worked and what didn't and what they wanted. Overall, the Stratocaster is a more complicated instrument with three single coil pickups which increases the tone and overall sound of the guitar. The addition of the Fender vibrato bridge allowed musicians to bend the strings to achieve a sound similar to the popular pedal-steel instruments. The already wide variety of tones that were created by the Stratocaster were expanded with the creation of the synchronized tremoloarm. A tremolo arm allows a guitar player to quickly vary the tension of the strings which temporarily changes the pitch to create vibrato, portamento and pitch effect expanding the options available for the musician. There were changes made to the overall design of the guitar body as well. Beveled areas for where the strumming arm rests and for the player's chest were added for a fitted feel that is comfortable for long session.

Creating the Fender Sound

The electric guitar was brought to life with the invention of the single coil pickup. A single coil pickup is created by wrapping a permanent magnet with fine enameled copper and then mounting the coil on the body of the guitar. When the player then plucks the strings, they vibrate and effect the magnetic flux which changes the voltage that passes through the coild of wire. The signal is modified by these changes in voltage and travels through the wire to the amplifier or recording device. The sound can then be amplified to be heard at any volume, from your garage to a stadium concert.

In its traditional form, the Telecaster guitar features just two single coil pickups but the three-way selector switch provides flexibility in choosing which pickup to use and further controls for tone and volume shape the sound. In the Stratocaster there are three standard single coil pickups mounted in series for the bridge middle and neck. With a switch of a lever the player can select which pickup they want to be active. Theey can use two pickups in combination, a single or all three to produce the sound that they want.

Further Innovation

First introduced in the 1950's, a humbucker is popular among many musicians for its ability to clarify sound. Electronic guitars rely on single coil magnetic pickups to 'pick up' and convey the alternated voltage created by the vibrating strings to create music. But these magnets can act as antennae and are vulnerable to picking up other signals not intended by the musician. The single coil magnetic pickups are sensitive to electromagnetic interference that can be generated by electrical appliances, computer screens, motors and other signals as well, all of which create a 'hum' or 'buzz' in the sound produced by the guitar. A humbucker uses two additional coils (although there are several versions of the humbucker) to cancel the interference, which literally bucks the hum and leaves only the pure musical sound to be amplified. In the American Series there are several Stratocasters that have humbuckers in their designs.

The Little Things

The sound of each guitar is unique and can be personized and shaped by several factors. Where the pickups are positioned, the number of coils wound around each magnet, what type of wire is used, the shape of the guitar, the kind of wood used in the neck and body and the position of the strings all have an impact on the sound. Using the tone controls to determine which pickups are featured gives musicians control over their sound. Pickups in the bridge position bring a bright, harmonic-rich and sharp tone compared to those pickups in the neck position which are louder, more warm and mellow in nature.

Left Handed Stratocaster Electric Guitar Metal Belt Buckle

How can you be in tune with your ukulele? The ukulele is a fantastic little instrument with many possibilities. You can play chords and melodies on it but a requisite is that your ukulele is in tune. Let's tune up!

The most common ukulele tuning is the standard C tuning.

It is of course preferable to use a tuner or piano or tuning fork in ukulele tuning but it is not necessary to tune exactly to the concert pitch if you don't play with others.

You can tune the ukulele by ear, using the method outlined below.

The strings on the ukulele is numbered from the highest pitched string. When you hold your ukulele in playing position string number one will be the string nearest your feet.

Now I will show you some steps in ukulele tuning to get your ukulele in tune.

1. Tune your first string to an A or a pitch that sounds okey to you.

2. Press down a finger on the fifth fret on the second string. Tune the second string until the pressed down fret will have the same pitch as the first string.

3. Press down a finger on the fourth fret on the third string. Tune the third string until the pressed down fret will have the same pitch as the second string.

4. Press down a finger on the third fret on the second string. Tune the fourth string until it sounds the same as the pitch of your pressed down fret on the second string.

We can test if your ukulele is in tune by playing the first part of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.

The first notes you will play are on the third string without pressing down any finger. I will use a form of ukulele tab with numbers.

The first number indicates the fret. The second number after the slash indicates which string to play:

0/3 0/3

This means: Play two notes on the open third string. Let's play some more ukulele tab:

0/3 0/3 3/2 3/2 0/1 0/1 3/2

Let's explain some of the numbers: 3/2 means press down the third fret on the second string and play the note. 0/1 means that you play the note on the open first string.

Let's play one more part:

1/2 1/2 0/2 0/2 2/3 2/3 0/0

If this sounds like the beginning of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star you can be quite sure that your ukulele tuning is correct.

We haven't used the fourth string in this melody but you can listen to the two notes 3/2 and 0/4. These two notes should have the same pitch if you have tuned the ukulele correctly.

Good luck with your ukulele tuning!

P.S. Why not try to find out the rest of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star by ear!

Perhaps no other guitar maker has touched the hearts of so many players and collectors as Fender. By producing excellent guitars at reasonable prices, Fender has been the instrument of choice for many guitarists throughout the world. Both the famous and not so famous have relied on Fender guitars to define their signature sounds.

The Fender company was founded by Leo Fender, and produced its first solid body electric guitar in 1951. This guitar was called the Telecaster, and was soon followed by the Precision Bass, and the legendary Stratocaster in 1954. Over the years many changes would take place at Fender which had a great impact on the types and quality of instruments they produced.

The first "mile-stone" year for Fender came in 1965. During this year, Fender was bought by corporate giant CBS. Quality began to decline during CBS's reign, and although Fender still remained popular among players, CBS lacked the commitment and understanding necessary to satisfy the needs of serious musicians. As a result, the guitars produced during the "Pre-CBS" era would become prized collectors items demanding large sums of money in the vintage guitar market.

In 1985 Fender enjoyed another "mile-stone" year as a group of employees purchased the company back from CBS. For the first time in 20 years Fender was in the hands of musicians and artisans committed to producing world class guitars. A new manufacturing facility was built in Corona California to handle the production of USA made guitars. In 1987 the Fender Custom Shop was established, reaffirming the company's dedication to producing top quality guitars, and catering to the needs of top musicians.

From 1985 to the present day, Fender has been steadily expanding its operations within the United States and abroad. The company now produces a vast array of musical products from strings to mixing boards. In spight of such massive growth, Fender's commitment to the production of quality guitars remains very high. Fender remains one of the few companies that can successfully provide quality products to both the "budget conscious" and "price no object" musicians.

Fender Stratocaster Mouse Pad

Made in the USA! This mouse pad is shaped like the real guitar! Looks great and is still very practical.

Music memorabilia is something special. It gives us a place in music history and helps us think about where you sit in terms of the grand scheme of things. When we hold onto something used by Jimmy Page or Elvis Presley, we are holding onto something used by rock royalty. It makes us feel special, it makes us feel a connection to those individuals and it makes us happy to think that in the grand scheme of things, we hold onto something special. We are a keeper of rock history, and that helps to give our lives some sort of meaning.

The question is then raised by those who want to be a part of music history, where do you find music memorabilia? Well, when you want used music memorabilia, you simply have to look in the right places, and often the right place is on the internet.

Online you will find countless sites that cater to the historian in all of us, offering to sell cherished items of rock for rock-bottom prices. Looking at those sites, it is easy to be overwhelmed by the amount of rock memorabilia you can buy, from something mundane like a drumstick used by Keith Moon in 1972 at a concert in New Jersey, to something iconic like the signed sheet music to Yesterday by The Beatles.

Of course, with that comes different prices. Something like the drumstick will cost you about $20 bucks, but the signed sheet music will probably cost you $20,000. It is all relative to the impact it had on music and the impact the person who used it had on music.

If you don't want to buy something online, then you can often find what you are looking for at conventions or collectable stores. This will allow you to get a first hand look at some of the items and be able to find out if it is actually legit. Whenever you buy something like used music memorabilia, you are going to want to see if you can get a certificate of authenticity. Doing this means that you will have something that is actually a piece of rock history, and not something that is being passed off as a piece of rock history. Why spend the money if you aren't going to get what you want?

Rock and Roll is a part of all of our lives, from the Baby Boomers to Generation Y, it shapes us and helps us. For each person, used music memorabilia is going to take on different meanings for all of us. For one person, getting a signed copy of Puff, The Magic Dragon from Peter, Paul and Mary will mean more than getting a signed copy of Sticky Fingers from the Rolling Stones.

If you are looking to get used music memorabilia, then you should start looking online at eBay and other music memorabilia websites around the world. You will be unlikely not to find what you are looking for. Become a part of rock history by getting the piece of rock history you are looking for.

Playing a musical instrument can be one of the most exciting things for anyone. It is not only satisfying but also lucrative as a career. Although each instrument has its own charm and significance, guitar seems to be one of the most popular choices of all time. For any guitar lover, it must be a treat to watch a person playing guitar and its tune and rhythm is simply overwhelming.

However, it takes a long time for a guitarist to master the art of playing guitar so well. If you ask any guitarist about their preference on the sound of guitars, their unequivocal answer would be electric guitar. Over the years, the popularity of electric guitars has gone up and so has their sale. Even though you have been playing acoustic guitar for some time now, you will need proper guidance while buying an electric guitar.

Take a look at the following points before you hit an electric guitar store:

Budget:

The prices of electric guitars would start from $300 and upward. If you have a shoe-string budget, chances are that you won`t find high-end guitars such as Guild Benedetto Signature Model or Paul Reed Smith Santana II. However, the good news is, due to the computer aided woodworking equipments, even low-end electric guitars sound almost as well as their high-end counterparts.

Types of Electric Guitar:

Electric Guitars can be found in different depending on their body. Most electric guitars are made up of solid wood such as Alder, Ash, Mahogany and Basswood. Semi-hollow instruments such as Gibson`s ES-335 are popular because of their thinness and lightweight. On the other hands, there are electric guitars such as Gretsch Black Falcon which a true hollow-body and f-holes allowing the user to tune the guitar to resonate sounds as well as the acoustic guitars do.

Types of Music:

Whether you would want to buy a Gibson ES-5 or Fender Telecaster depends purely on what music you play most of the time. For instance, if you belong to a country band, you should choose an electric guitar that produces cleaner and brighter twang. Hence, you can pick a Stratocaster or Fender Telecaster to do justice to your county band. On the other hand, go for the Paul Reed Smith McCarty Hollowbody II if you are playing music in a jazz setting.

Number of Pick-ups:

Usually, modern electric guitars can be found in two different pick-ups such as single coils and humbuckers. While single coils will sound brighter with a pronounced attack, humbuckers will produce a warmer and darker tone. Some electric guitars can also have mix pick-ups. Guitars having more pick-ups will produce more tonal variations.

Electronics:

All standard electric guitars have a basic set of pick-up selector switch, volume and tone controls. Instruments such as the Eric Clapton Signature Stratocaster have an added feature which allows the player to adjust the warmer and flatter sound of the humbucker. There are also hybrid electric guitars such as synth guitar which are fitted with additional hardware for connecting them to a synth via a 13-pin RMC system. Electric guitar manufacturers are now putting more emphasis on guitars playability than their aesthetics.

Appearance:

The looks of electric guitars would vary greatly and it actually depends on you preference. Guitarists who are into death metal would hardly like a Fender Telecaster with a shell pink finish. Hence, now-a-days, electric guitar manufacturing companies produce guitars that are genre-specific.

Frets:

Many buyers do not care much about the frets; however, they are curial to the playability of electric guitars. For instance, electric guitars with smooth and playable neck will allow you to do hammer-on and pull-offs, bend notes, and deliver clean articulations at any positions of the neck. If the frets are tailored perfectly, the electric guitars will offer a superlative performance.

Fender 1/6 Scale Mini Stratocaster

The legendary and venerable Fender Stratocaster guitar took guitar design to a higher level and became the voice of rock n roll. Featuring a comfort-contoured body, three single-coil pickups, and a synchronized tremolo system the Strat guitar has become the most popular guitar ever built. This 1/6 scale model guitar comes packaged on a blister card with many accessories including 3 mini picks, strap, shield, transmitter and guitar stand. (NOT PLAYABLE - For DISPLAY ONLY)
Customer Review: Mini Strat
I play a Stratocaster as my main guitar, and I even prefer it over my Les Paul, so I was intriguigued by a miniature Strat. I was expecting something similar to a Strat, but when I got it I was totally jazzed. The detail is unreal. They had gone to great effort to make everything exactly like the real one. It even has a pack of three picks. One thing is put it in a safe place to display it because in making the details in scale it is very delicate. I'm very careful not to damage it because it is a prize display I show to everyone who comes to my house. If you like guitars and unique detailed collectibles check it out. You'll love it. I do.

Every guitarist knows that the tone of the guitar is determined for the better part by the type of pickups he uses. So what do you do when you're not happy with the tone your guitar produces? Well the answer is pretty simple. Just get yourself a new pair of pickups!

This however is more easily said than done. Delve deeper into the world of guitar pick ups and you will be as confused as a rat in a maze. Humbucker, single coil and acoustic are some of the types of guitar pickups available and for the beginner these might seem like complex jargon. So read on to find simpler tips on how to choose the best guitar pickup for your guitar.

Find a tone that you like

Is there any artists who plays the same kind of guitar you play? Do you admire them for their awesome tone? Well, then it might be easier to get the tone you desire by simply figuring out what pickups they use. There are many websites which will provide you these details.

The three main types of pickups are:

Single Coil: Single coil pickups are sought after for their vintage sound and they have widely noticeable feedback. The Fender Stratocaster is one of the most popular designs that use a single coil pick up. Though fender has launched many pick up designs, none have been as popular as their original design. Also a lot of other Statocaster guitar models of other brands use single coil pickups.

Humbucker: The Humbucker is renowned around the world for its extremely powerful tone. In fact the Humbucker was specially designed to reduce the hum that was caused by single coil pickups. So even if you play blues or heavy crunching rock, you can find a Humbucker that suits your needs. You can also find some humbuckers with a vintage feel to them. The magnets and screws of the humbuckers are what give them the punch in the sound. Seymour Duncan, Dimarzio and EMG are some of the best brands for humbuckers.

Acoustic Guitars: With acoustic guitars you don't have that much of a choice when it comes to pickups. Acoustic pickups are mend to increase the overall sound of the guitar and not improve the tone. Soundhole, soundboard transducers and the unplugged acoustic are the three main types of acoustic guitar pickups.

So do a little bit of research on each type of guitar pickup. You'll find it relatively easy to find the right pickups. There is nothing better than to play your guitar with a tone you love!

Fender GMP Replica Mini Stratocaster® - Sunburst - Replica Model

GMP has captured the essence of the Stratocaster in outstanding detail with this 1:3-scale replica, the first in the series. Features include a real wood neck contoured to match the real guitar, an accurately contoured die-cast body, moveable pickup selector switch, volume and tone controls, accurately scaled steel strings and a moveable tremolo arm. Each miniature comes with a display stand, wall mount and full-color collector's box.
Customer Review: The shrunken Strat
Really nice. I got the sunburst strat model, and the paint on the diecast body shows woodgrain. One detractor though, mine could have used a little more red in the sunburst - almost looks like the two tone fifties sunburst pattern - but I am just nitpicking. The things is beautiful. I think they should offer a fifties strat with a maple fretboard......
Customer Review: Mini Strat
This is a great looking collectible! A perfect looking tiny strat, right down to the last detail. I love the look of the finish - just like the real thing! I also love the wall hanger - it looks just like a regular guitar wall hanger, only small! Great detail and craftmanship in this item!

The fame of karaoke all over the world is phenomenal but its origin has never been uttered. Nowadays, karaoke bars are becoming more popular in various countries. As a matter of fact, most restaurants offer machines with songs in different languages for free. Nevertheless, the mere thought of going to karaoke bars often raise some eyebrows. On the other hand, those who complained but gave it a chance, it has been hard for them to withdraw themselves from the fun it gives.

Where does this well-known form of entertainment really come from? Although the exact story of the emergence of it is vague, we can still track its etymology. The word 'karaoke' comes from 'kara', empty (short for karappo) and 'oke' (short for okesutora), orchestra. As known, karaoke tracks only have music accompaniment. The vocals are provided by a "singer", amateur or not, who holds a microphone and sings while following the words displayed on a screen or in a book.

With the evolution of technology, karaoke has been brought to every home. Its first real technological advancement is the development of home sets that allows you to sing at anytime. There were also karaoke tapes that have been made available to the public. Then, the birth of compact disc made it even exciting as it offers hundreds of songs in just one disc. These music paraphernalia comes with a lyric book and can be played with or without vocals.

Going back to its roots, the congestion of Japanese neighborhood have become a major problem in setting up karaoke sets. With houses built closely to one another, many complained about too much sound coming from other houses. And so, entrepreneurs took advantage of this issue and created the soundproof karaoke boxes. The box is a converted freight car with closed-door insulated rooms and soundproof. This is marketed as a venue where one can sing so loudly without creating inconvenience to other people. The first karaoke box was developed in 1984 in a rice field in the countryside of Okayama Prefecture. Sooner, Karaoke Boxes became popular and were put up in open spaces in both rural and urban areas.

Time flies and we're now embracing the continuous development of portable Karaoke Microphones. This sound device has a built-in program and a chip that houses thousands of songs. And because it is portable, playing it anywhere you want is possible as long as there is a television.

I'm selling the famous Enter Tech magic mic. I also love to read magazines of various topics and an active contributor of the music blog.

The way we listen to music has forever changed thanks to the MP3 revolution. If you are late in jumping in on this bandwagon it really is a great time to be considering your first player. The main problem you may have is deciding which type of player is right for your needs. One trip to your local computer superstore and you will find a lot of different types of portable players. How are you supposed to figure out the model you need? You have so many different choices such as whether to purchase a hard drive or flash memory model. Would an MP3 CD player better suit your needs? This article will take a look at some of the features available on the many different types of MP3 players and help you pick out what is right for you.

The first thing you must decide is what type of storage space do you need. The first players such as the iPod had a hard drive much like the hard drive in your computer. You can buy these in all different sizes with some available as large as 60 GB. Some of the bigger models will more than likely store all the music you will ever want to store. If you cannot fit all of your music on one of these models you own a lot of music. On the other side of the coin are flash memory models.

MP3 players with flash memory generally will not hold as much music as one with a hard drive. There are no moving parts and they are well known for being small and holding up well when a lot of movement is going on. Flash memory is an excellent type of portable music player to use when exercising. The small size also makes it a great choice when you plan to take your flash-based player with you on your daily activities. Depending on your needs a CD player that will play MP3 disks may be a good choice.

Most of the radios you can purchase these days will have the ability to play MP3 CDs already built in. If you are the type of person who will listen to your music in the car most of the time this might be a good choice. Not only will these radios play regular CDs they also will play your MP3 CDs that you can burn at home. The advantage of this over a normal CD is that you can stuff many hours of music compressed into the MP3 format on a single CD.

In the end it is up to you to decide what is important to you. Do you need the ability to store a large amount of music or is size and being able to slip your player in any pocket more important? The bugle is a small brass instrument that is basically a natural horn, because it has no valves or keys. One might wonder how the pitch is altered without any keys or valves; the pitch can be altered by controlling the air that the musician is blowing into the horn through closed lips. Blowing through closed lips is what creates the vibrations that make the sound. Of course, even with the ability to alter pitch manually without keys or valves, the instrument is fairly limited to a smaller range of notes it can make; which appears to be five notes at most.

The bugle is a fairly simple instrument that was originally developed from instruments like the horn. The brass bugle has not changed much and still appears more or less the same today as it did when the first brass bugles were first created, though they have altered in appearance quite a bit from the original horns that came before the brass bugle.

It would appear that it was and is most often used by the military in marching bands or signal calls that need to be made. Though it has been used in other types of music, it does not appear to be a brass instrument that is used as often as others. Its limited range, tone and pitch is very commanding and bold; this could be the reason why it is more popular in the military and marching bands.

It may not be the first instrument that a new musician will choose to learn how to play. The bugle is simple in construction, and it only requires a person to control the amount of air that they blow into the instrument, but it does take some time and practice to be able to get the control they need. Still, it might not be an attractive instrument to lean how to play by many, but then it also depends on why they are learning to play the instrument, such as whether they are in a band and are limited to what instruments they can play.

School bands would be another way for young people to be exposed to the chance to play the bugle. The instrument is not overly expensive and the music is not too expensive either, so it is yet another brass instrument that can be an attractive choice for school bands to include in their class. It is also an instrument that can be relatively easy for people to find in used instrument stores, where the cost is a fraction of what it would be when new.

The bugle is also another brass instrument that has been known to be donated to schools by people who no longer have a use for their bugles, but who also want to show their support for exposing young people to music. Some people do enjoy playing this particular instrument; some even find it a little challenging, especially if it is the first instrument they have ever learned how to play.

An ukulele is a fantastic instrument to use on a birthday celebration! Today you will learn the ukulele chords to a famous song!

We will first take a look at the lyrics:

Happy Birthday To You

Happy Birthday To You

Happy Birthday Dear ...

Happy Birthday To You

The names of the chords we play presupposes that your ukulele is tuned in C. This means that your first string is an A.

Now you will learn the ukulele chord C-major:

C: 0/4 0/3 0/2 3/1

This ukulele tab notation will help you to find which frets and strings to use on your ukulele.

The first number tells you which fret to press down. The number after the slash indicate the string.

0/4 means that you play the open fourth string on your ukulele. Yes, an open string is a string we don't press down.

3/1 means that you press down the third fret on the first string.

You have to learn one more chord in order to play the first line of lyrics. It will be G7:

G7: 0/4 2/3 1/2 2/1

Time to try the ukulele chords for the first line. I will put the chord names in front of the words where you change chords:

Happy (C)Birthday To (G7)You

The next line has the same lyrics but a different chord combination.

Happy (G7)Birthday To (C)You

You will need to know one more ukulele chord. That is F:

F: 2/4 0/3 1/2 0/1

Time for the third line. We will put a name in the lyrics:

Happy (C)Birthday Dear (F)Martha

Now it's time for you to complete this song. The last line:

Happy (C)Birthday (G7)To (C)You

You can of course play the song in other keys on your ukulele. I will just give you one more key to play you song in.

I will make a little conversion table for you to use in order to play the song in D-major. First you will get the chords in D-major:

D: 2/4 2/3 2/2 0/1

You will also use the chord A7:

A7: 0/4 1/3 0/2 0/1

and finally G-major:

G: 0/4 2/3 3/2 2/1

In order to be able to play Happy Birthday To You in the key of D you have to replace the chords in the following way:

C becomes D

G7 becomes A7

F becomes G

This change of key will give you a chance to sing in a slightly higher pitch. Of course there are more keys that you can use. We have different key preferences because of our personal singing abilities but these keys are good for an untrained voice at least.

Now you can play the ukulele chords to the song Happy Birthday To You in two keys!

There will be plenty of opportunities for you to play this song. Learn it by heart one line at a time and you will be able to play the song wherever there is an ukulele.

The Fender Stratocaster Handbook: How To Buy, Maintain, Set Up, Troubleshoot, and Modify Your Strat

This hands-on, how-to manual for the Strat takes the mystery out of maintaining and modifying what is really a relatively simple instrument (two boards, some wires, some pickups). Clear text and colorful illustrations take readers through the basics of selecting and buying Strats; maintenance and repairs such as tuning, setting intonation, tremolo alignment, fret repairs, bridge and nut adjustments, electrics troubleshooting; spur-of-the-moment stageside fixes; and some basic performance enhancements like adding “hot rod” Fender and aftermarket pickups, locking-tremolo nuts, and more.

Customer Review: great for saving money
I set up the playing action on the guitar necks on 5 guitars in a row, right after first studying 1 page in this book for about 2 minutes, if you want to adjust-lower the string action on a guitar, this book explains it very easily, each guitar took about 30 seconds, it's so easy!
Customer Review: Mr. know How
This handbook is really good, for me it gives me almost everything I needed or I wanted to know about the legendary Stratocaster guitar, I personally recommend it to anyone who is interested to know everything about Strats and more important to who wants a hands-on reference to fully understand and maintain their guitar........ I really love improvisations that go nowhere. Improvisations where there is no goal just an impulse to follow feelings in the current moment.

In fact, some have described this kind of music as self-indulgent - a kind of musical fantasy world where the focus is more on the performer than the listener.

Of course, this isn't the case at all. You see, most of us are used to having our music wrapped up in nice neat little packages. We aren't used to actually listening to music. We expect an "emotional experience" right away. And it better happen in 3-4 minutes or else.

Take Japanese Shakahuachi music for example. For those of you who don't know, the shakahuachi is a Japanese flute. It's beautiful sound is appreciated by many in the East.

I have a few CDs of this music and everytime I listen to them I hear something new. It's as if each time the CD is played I hear it for the first time. It never gets old. Why? Because of the absence of musical form!

There is not much for the mind to grasp or hold onto. Repetition of musical phrases is almost non existent. Instead, we get music without goals!

If there is a goal at all, it's that the person performing the music remains in the present while playing. What we hear is the "state of mind" of the performer at the exact time the recording is made.

In one of my own piano pieces "Cirrus," (listen to it at http://www.quiescencemusic.com) I do the same thing. And everytime I listen to it, it seems that it's somehow changed. Yet the music always remains fresh and pliant - waiting to be discovered again and again.

Having said all of this, I have nothing against musical form and the works that come from it. I just think the "other" kind of music is just as valid and important

If you are a parent, you naturally do want your children to be all that they can be ... With that in mind, you should seriously consider getting your children involved in a number of different activities. In this regard, you need to consider enrolling your children in guitar lessons. There are many benefits to enrolling your children in guitar lessons at an early age. The benefits of early learning when it comes to guitar lessons are explored for your consideration in this article.

One of the most basic benefits that can be realized by providing your children a chance to take guitar lessons early in life is the fact that they will be able to start the process of learning this instrument at a point in time when it will be easier for them to learn. Research has demonstrated that children that take instrument lessons earlier in life normally are able to master that instrument more quickly and more effectively.

Another of the basic benefits that can be realized by exposing your children to guitar lessons early in life is that they will be able to take part in an activity that they enjoy. The fact is that children you are exposed to instruments early in life come to enjoy the whole process of learning to play. On the other hand, if you wait until children are older and have established alternate routines (which not always be particularly healthy), these kids may not find pleasure in guitar lessons on the same lesson. In other words, they may find guitar lessons to be a chore and complain about having to participate in them.

Yet another of the benefits associated with guitar lessons is the fact that you will be able to expand the horizons of your kids by exposing them to guitar lessons. You want your children to have a wide range of experiences in life. Your children will be best served by being exposed to different things as early in life as is reasonable and possible. This includes exposing your children to the arts and to music, including possibly guitar lessons.

You also need to keep in mind that if you do not expose your children to guitar lessons at an earlier age, your children may not have that option ever again in the future. The fact is that many schools today have cut out many music lessons and classes. There budgets simply do not allow for music lessons and classes. Therefore, if you want your children to be exposed to things like guitar lessons, you will need to take the lead on your own to get your kids so involved.

Another benefit that your children can enjoy by getting involved with guitar lessons is that these lessons will allow your kids an expanded chance at socialization. Not only will your children be able to interact with the instructor but your children will also be able to interact with other students as well. This type of socialization is crucial to the emotional and psychological development of your child. You will see a change in your child in this regard through guitar lessons in no time at all.

Finally, by getting your children involved in guitar lessons, your children may also have the chance to perform. This will open up another set of interesting doors for your kids. Performing will enhance your children's sense of self, self esteem and so forth. On some level there is nothing that builds a child's self confidence as does performing an instrument that a child has mastered through lessons and practice.

Developed as an amalgamation of various musical forms, country music has a huge fan following across the globe. Country music enthusiasts are divided loosely into two sects. The first contains those people who listen to this melodious form for entertainment. The second and the more serious are those who follow country music as a form of art.

Country music lyrics have played a huge part in bringing the music to its present successful stage. The simple and flowing words of country music describe the day-to-day lives of the average American. Not every body identifies with Brad Pitt or Madonna, but you can empathize with the simple characters described in country music. An average working class American citizen relates to the beautiful depiction of relationships, touching loneliness or poverty.

Earlier commercial forms of country music copied ballad or folk music. The lyrics depicted the lives of Americans in earlier days, using a fiddler to deliver the message. A good example of this was fiddling John Carsons 1924 hit "Little Old Log Cabin in the Lane."

Country music lyrics beautifully portrayed the romantic version of a vast span of lonesome prairies. People loved the image of a singing cowboy galloping on a steed singing and working hard on a sunny day. Singers like Gene Autry and Roy Rogers boosted the image of country music tremendously by including beautiful lyrics in their songs.

The lyrics in country music are often repeated as a catchy melodious phrase by a chorus, and composers usually write tunes that are 150 words or less.

Named after their hometown, the soft rock outfit, Boston has a loyal core of fans. Boston the band was in its prime during the 1970s and 1980s but they have never really gone away. They are a particular favorite with radio DJs and their appeal cuts across the generations. The most famous song associated with them is probably More Than a Feeling.

As with most groups that have been around for a long time, there have been several changes to the line up. The only remaining original member is Tom Scholz and he founded the band Boston, plays on guitar and writes most of the music. Current members also include Gary Pihl on guitar, Jeff Neal on drums and Kimberley Dahme on bass. Dahme is the first female member of the line up. Scholz is also well known for his innovation in the recording studio and has designed his own recording and sound equipment. He is a perfectionist in the studio and strive to reproduce the best sound possible on stage.

The group has a habit of making platinum albums, including the debut from 1976. Called Boston, the album sold more copies than any other debuts in American history. The follow up, two years later, Don't Look Back, also reached platinum sales, as did the next two. Third Stage was released in 1986 and Walk On in 1994. A Greatest Hits release was another bestseller in 1997. In addition to the old hits, it contained three new songs. The latest album from Boston the band is Corporate America, which came out in 2002.

The single, More Than a Feeling, from the debut album, reached number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was promoted with a video of the group in concert. The song has been covered several times including a version by boy band *NSYNC. "Weird Al'' Yankovic has also done a parody of the song. It is featured on the PlayStation game, Guitar Hero.

There was a very emotional reunion for Boston the band in 2007 when Tom Scholz organized a tribute concert to former vocalist with the group, the late Brad Delp. Both current and past members of the band came together to celebrate Delp's life, playing their classic hit records. The concert, at Boston's Bank of America Pavilion, was a great success. Despite the circumstances, it was an uplifting affair for the band and their fans as they remembered the vast contribution that Delp had made to the band's success.
